So, I’m probably gonna get some heat for this one, but I was curious, I’ve got a 2006 MK5 Jetta, and rocket bunny makes a kit for the MK6 or MK7 Golf... I wonder if it would be possible to somehow retrofit one of these kits on my MK5? I know some shaving and trimming and other things would need to be done to it, but it should technically be possible, right?

Your car will probably look like Frankenstein. As far as I know at least the MK7 is a totally different platform. If I am looking at the right link, the complete kit is almost $4k. Instead of looks for the car I would use that money to buy an ECU tune (Malone for example), perhaps a more reliable and robust turbo (Darkside developments has a Garrett good for up to 220hp that fits with no modifications), plan on replacing the camshaft (Frank06 has a good kit) and buy the VCDS cable.
For tasteful esthetic upgrades that won't break the bank I recommend:
1. A front bumper lip from Maxton: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-maxton-design-parts/front-splitter-textured/vw-go-5-gti-fd1/
2. Side skirts from a GLI
3. OEM HID GLI headlights
4. OEM LED taillights
5. Fog Lights
6. A Wolfsburg Grill.
