Hey all,

I'm paring my BB Storm 2 (9550) to my Jetta and no issues with the paring. However, there is quite a bit of background noise that people I am calling are complaining about. I tested it myself, I had my engine off, parked in a garage, and I call my house phone, and even though nothing was on and no one was talking I could hear quite a bit of static/noise on the home phone.

Is the microphone screwed in my car?

wow, i have background noise issue only on highways when i'm travelling at 120km/h. Other times its very clear. Wife has the Golf with BT as well and its the same for her. We both have Blackberries. Have you tired using another phone to see if its the phone or microphone?

No problems with my BB and BT on my 2011 Jetta. My with has an Acer Smart Phone and also no problems. Agree that BB's create a lot of EMI. They can interfere with speakers if the BB is close to them.

Ok, I tested it with a Motorola Milestone, with the Andriod OS. Same static background noise issue. However I did notice the functionality of the bluetooth with the andriod was better than my BB. The system was able to say some of the contact names correctly, rather than messed up on my BB.

Think it is the mic in the car ?

I don.t have any problems either. My BT connected droid X even at highway speeds and around town with the windows down, is incredibly clear to hear and people understand me just fine.

Id say take it to your dealer. have them test/listen to it.
