I have a 2006 Jetta tdi 1.9L and it is just blowing black smoke out of the tail pipe. It all started after i changed the turbo because the oil seal was blown out. after that i was told that could be the EGR valve and the injectors so i got a new EGR and got the injectors rebuild and it is still doing the same thing. if anyone has any suggestions for what this could be it would be very helpful.

Well, black smoke means it’s over fueling so you have too much fuel and not enough air. Does it seem low on power? Did you check the calibration of the turbo?

so it wont rev over 2000rpms and is low on power, but when i put the new turbo in i thought the same thing so i plugged a scanner in and it was reading 30psi of boost. it has an electronic wastegate so i didn't want to mess with it to much and just put it in.

You’re over boosting and it’s going into limp mode.

What codes do you find in your VCDS analysis? You do have one, I suppose, otherwise, how can you do anything with these cars?

Black smoke, particularly if it goes away after your car goes into limp mode, is an indication of boost leak. Check the connections from the turbo to the intake manifold.
