blinker problem!!

well this is the 3rd time this happened and im getting a little mad. my left blinker keeps not working so the contacts need to be cleaned sometimes so i pulled out the left blinker in the front shin metal unplug and replug then it works, well didnt work this time?? but when i turn the lights on it comes on! when i use the left turn signal it blinks fast and doesnt work. when i use the remote to lock all the doors, it doesnt blink. any ideas????

Well, you may be out of blinker fluid. However, a more likely answer is that the blinker light bulbs have two filaments. One is the "low", or parking light, filament. The other is the "high", or blinker/hazard filament. Maybe your "high" filament was flaky, about to go out, and with you jostling the wiring would go back to working temporarily. This explains why your parking lights will work but your blinker/hazards do not. I'd suggest replacing the bulb and it will most likely work. The blinker will blink double-time when the filament is blown because the flasher works on resistance. When the resistance is lowered because of a filament being out, it will blink twice as fast.
