Burlington Skyway today, trailer in tow, heavy traffic. Coolant level warning alarm came on. Went 3 km to my exit, confirmed that the bottle was empty, limped to Walmart and filled up the bottle with water, 3 km later the warning came on again ... dammit, had to get both the car and the trailer towed home. Thanks to a couple of gearhead neighbors, we have it jury rigged to bypass the heater by using what was left of one hose to bypass it so I can get on the road again.

The bottom of one of the heater hoses had a split in it. That hose is close to the exhaust and is not in a pleasant environment ... and those spring clamps are ignorant to get off. Folks may want to take a look at this as these cars are getting older.

I'm looking at replacing these hoses with silicone hoses to hopefully withstand the hot and oily environment.
