Should it be rebuilt when exghanging comp wheel?....cuz I'd be back to square one cost wise. I respect your business, but you can understand how I'd like to just get the gt17 wheel installed locally and save the shipping cost and hassle. I mean, the shipping would run double of what that wheel is worth, I presume.
I understand that giving me info or part# on how to do this is like shooting yourself in the foot, but I'm still hoping for someone to help with this ('GT15 internals upgrade' thread).
It kinda feels like trying to swim up rapids.

Just wanted to mention that Bleached Bora was very easy to communicate with and everything went perfect. Things arrived as he promised and the parts were less than I could find anywhere I looked, even on the internet.

Just changed the introduction, trying to get thread name changed to something like "BleachedBora's Parts Page" or something nifty . I want people that see the name to know that's my for sale page though...
I also put up a January special on the ELF oil. In the next few days I'm going to mess with the format some, since a lot of parts are interchangeable between A3/B4/A4 etc... Perhaps something like different sections sort of how my Sources for TDI Parts page is set up...we'll see.
I'd appreciate all the feedback and help that I can get!

Had a smoke cloud on the way home. I am afraid it may be the turbo seals gone bad. (Best way to tell?) Right now it is in the teens and too damn cold to work on it.

Any hybrid turbos for a b4?

If not, know where I can get a rebuild or DIY kit on the east coast? I believe I have a k003 (per Tomo).

the number on my turbo is GT17. are the VNT 15 and VNT17 interchangeable with that...

Does it say GT1749? Believe it or not, that's the part number for a VNT15.
The 1996-1997 1Z motors had a Garret GT15. The 1998-1999 had the KKK-K03, both were wastegated. In 1999.5-2005 we have the VNT15 with the number GT1749 on it. The VNT17 is from some of the euro engines...The K03/K04 is NOT for your car. The GT1749 is a Garrett number, you need the actual part number on the side of the turbo, it should say, "038253019C or 038253019A." That's the VW number.
I have a VNT15, same turbo you have now, ready to go if you want it tomorrow.
