Cyl 2 piston looks to be very maybe a hair line shorter then the other 3 but hard to tell untill I take proper measurements.

The valves compress straight down, so usually look fine, until they break off a bit down the road and grenade the block.

It's the witness marks on the piston tops that tell the tale.

Sounds like you might have gotten lucky?

Look at the tops of the lifters on those two valves. Fine spider cracks across the cam lobe face of the lifter is what you're looking for.

The "clean" spots on the valves are likely the impact spots.

Would it be safe to fill the system up with some hose water and let it run for a little like that? I wanna flush out the old coolant and any debris that got in it and put new coolant.

Well I got the timing belt on. Cam at tdc cyl1, crank locked at tdc cyl1 with the arrows aligned on the tool. Cam lock pin goes in fully. Did the timing belt and torqued everything down, verified crank was still correct and pin goes in and out. When I went to the turn the engine over it locks up somewhere in both directions. Not sure if that is even possible???
I have the rockers installed but injector heights not set yet.

Ok I got the engine back together and timed, torsion value is at 1.5 can’t Remeber if it was plus or minus.

the engine starts right up but has a noticeable knock almost sounds like a bad injector or cam. I’m wondering if this could possible be from not setting the injector heights correctly? I set them using Frank method untill the injector was bottomed out then bottom out the adjuster and back it off 180 degrees
