Been trying to read alot of posts and decide on the timing components I will be buying for my 99 Beetle. I am leaning hard toward Bora Parts pieces. I am going the extra deal and buying the HD timing belt, but which waterpump will be the best? Plastic impellar or steel? The plastic has a better warranty than the steel. The kit I am looking at has all components necessary to do the job seen here. Will this be a good choice? I plan to order this week..Opinions???

please tell me you atleast tried the search button.

this has been covered like 1 billion times lol.

now on the water pump. most will tell you the steel. and the last belt i got from arron he told me the plastic had the longer warrenty also. but i got the steel.

and i use bora's kits. seems like the best kit for the money. and he has GREAT customer service.

Yes sir..... I did use the search but it seems like almost all threads go off on a tangent and 1/2 say 1 thing and 1/2 say the other..I was really leaning to the steel one but was hoping to get better feedback than I have found so far..I just want the best pieces for the car so we can totally rely on the car..Thanks also for the feedback on the Bora Parts service. That in itself makes me feel a whole lot better..

If you like to shop locally, metalmanparts.com is in Sunbury, PA.
I second this also , I've bought 4 kits from him and have been very happy with them.

I also bought from bora parts too.

I bought from Kerma.

And also IDparts. I like to spread it around:D.

You won't go wrong with any of the vendors here, some give slightly better deals than others, but other than that there great.

Metalman is 45 minutes away from me. I really haven't set it in stone as to who I buy from. If Metalman can work on my car I will most likely take it to him and order his parts while I am at it..I really appreciate the helpful suggestions..

Great guy. Great parts. Great service.

Heck, all of our vendors give great service.

I, too, have had great results from all the vendors here, but I buy most of my parts from Dennis. In addition to the above reason, he's usually got the best prices including shipping.

Sent Dennis an email about my car,he emailed back and it looks like we will be meeting each other soon.He gave me a quote on labor which was way more than fair in my opinion. Thanks guys for the help...Now our Beetle will be a happy camper this spring..
