When I had B4's, I think performance chips and E-code headlights were the best mods.

What's the range of the B4 keyless? On MK3s its pretty hit or miss and I had a 0-5ft range on my Jetta's keyless module, but I lengthened the antenna with a 10' piece of copper wire, ran it up the A-Pillar, and now its closer to 20-40ft.
It's the same module as the Mk3 so same stock range. I did the same thing, drilled a hole in the case and ran a piece of wire up the A pillar.

Where’d you get the parts? Find new parts or a good parts car? Keyless would be pretty darn nice!

Got them on EBay. I think total cost came to like $100 USD. It's the white box alarm module out of an A3. Make sure the fob FCC ID matches the module if you buy them separately

Wanna say that extending the antenna wire up the A pillar worked well to increase the fob range for my b4.

There are writeups for adding aftermarket keyless. You can probably get the whole system cheaper than finding an OEM banjo remote.
I got my oem fob for $30 in mint condition haha. They're all over ebay for around that price but most look pretty worn by this point. Can just get an aftermarket fob like ajlal said, they work identical as long as the FCC ID matches. Plenty of aftermarket options systems too, can just splice into the vacuum pump wiring. For ease of install though I just went with oem, it's basically PnP save for 1 wire splice

Best B4 modification is a drivetrain swap ......
At least that's what I did with mine
It makes me kinda sad to think about how many VR6 B4s, and really VR6 anything, that have been junked over the years because of some catastrophic chain fail that the owner was unable or unwilling to fix.
1Z TDi into a VR6 GLX. Factory four channel ABS, bigger front disks, factory EDL / traction control, 'sport' suspension, 15 inch, five bolt wheels, better foam in the seats, leather seat surfaces, factory MFA.

I've got a GLX I eventually want to swap the brakes from. I just installed new rotors all the way around not too long back so I'm putting it off for a little while.

The only feature the GLX has that I care about is the seats. I don't use brakes a lot, and value the simplicity of non-ABS.

I do have a B3 glove box that will go in the B4V. I'm looking forward to that.

Wheels and tires. I think I thought of something that wasn't previously mentioned.

The stock wheel and tire combo (195/60/14) is obnoxiously small. They look too little on the car and your RPMs run really high in 5th gear. I think the perfect size is 195/65/15 if you can find a set of wheels you like. It will take noticeably more power in lower gears if you don't have a tune, but in 5th gear your RPMs are only about 60 off from what a .681 ratio 5th gear would give you with stock size tires.

Yes, and I've done it, even implemented the stock VR6 lift pump and turned the filler neck into a fuel return/cooler. They still rot like crazy and have the same door handle and window regulator issues as other B4s though. I will say the B4 with its longer wheel base rides much nicer on the highway if comfort is your goal.

There are just too many to list....
They have a freakishly large (front to back) rear seat, too. Like a much larger car. No wonder they were popular in certain areas as taxicabs.

As a member of the DDC, I'd keep the airbag
