Beetle sunroof forward drains?

The front drain tubes on the sunroof of my wife's 02 Beetle TDI seem to be clogged.

Anyone know how to get to the opening on the body where they are supposed to drain? I looked and didn't see where they come out.

I read a post somewhere that someone had good luck snaking a heavier gauge weedwacker plastic cord down through these drains and using that to clean them out. My daughter has a 01 Jetta that she parks under a tree so I have been meaning to do this on her car. I know that I have a big spool of the star shaped weedwacker cord that should be stiff enough to snake through; if that doesn't work I also have some picture hanging wire that might work.
