Our TDI stopped starting, we brought it to our mechanic as I thought it was the starter. He installed a new battery but the battery looks too small in the tray. It seems to start and run fine but I am worried about cold weather starts later in the year.
He put in :
Megatron ll rd6
MT 47-H5
CCA- 650
CA-810
RC-100
AH 53
Is this the correct battery?
Thanks

H5 is what everyone sells for that car now. Im glad my beetle takes a H6 tho. The large boost in cranking amps I was able to get with the AGM battery has helped starting alot.

It appears they dont make a very large H5. I have seen some people say that the H6 will fit but thats a question for a golf person who has tried.

Thanks all-I guess I'll see what happens when the weather cools a bit.
Why wouldn't you just take it back and tell the "mechanic" that it's incorrect and fix it...

You probably won't notice a different right away, the battery will just have a short life expectancy.

Dieseldorf is correct. You need a 94R or H7. You're going to want the correct battery for your car. I'd go back to the mechanic and insist on the proper one.
