After testing i found the radio system is draining the battery, if i turn the head unit off . the drain will stop . the radio has the monsoon amp .

so should i replace the head unit or the monsoon amp . is there any way i can test what cause the problem ? thanks

and even after the radio is off , the car still drain 0.19 amp . Is that normal or i have more problems ..

thanks .

UPDATE .

Just found that the ALternator is draining .15 amp . So if i disconnect both alternator fuse and the radio system fuse . the multimeter shows 0.03 amp.

But i just put in the alternator from oreilly auto parts last week . the previous one has bad voltage regulator and was exchanged under warranty .

The replacement alternators and starters from the local parts stores are hit and miss. Alot of misses based on the similar experiences I have seen posted here. A genuine Bosch reman is highly recommended.

These cars have a certain amount of drain due to the security system. Get your battery checked first and foremost. My experience has been if the battery is even slightly weak, it will go dead in a day or two in the cold months. That's one reason I only use Interstate batterys too even though they're getting harder to find and aint cheap..

Well, there is your problem. Unless you want to get really good at replacing alternators, DO NOT get them from O'Reilly's. A "warranty" is just so much nonsense if what they sell you is garbage. They know you will eventually get tired of changing their garbage parts and just go away.

If you had replaced the regulator and perhaps the clutched pulley on your OEM alternator, it would have been good for another 200K miles.
