After only a couple of months since I had my tail light broken in a supermarket parking lot, yesterday I got side swiped by a driver that decided to make a turn without bothering to look! I was in the left lane eastbound on Lakeshore in New Toronto when I was passing a 15 year old Nissan Sentra in the right hand lane, when she indicated she wanted to turn left on Burlington Street. She started to turn left before I completed the pass. The front left corner of her car hit the rear of my passenger side front door and as I was going faster her car swiped along side back to the rear wheel rim. Fortunatly everyone was ok. I had my wife and kids in the car, and they lady that hit me had two little kids in her car. We did not call the police or go to the collision reporting centre. She and her husband said they will pay the cost of repair to my car. They were very apologetic. Any good suggestions for body work in West end of Toronto or in Mississauga? I want an honest price, but I also want a perfect repair. The car is not even a year old yet. I own it, and want to keep it for many years. Also, I love my car!

You might want to add a few $$$ to the total to cover diminished value. Even if the accident is never recorded. a simple paint thickness test will tell what part of the car was repaierd. Since this might be the better part of one side, make sure to consider that too.

I 2nd 427 collision. Very clean high tech shop. A guy that I used to work with had his car repainted and new decals applied at 427. I think they did a nice job on his car, but I'm not an expert.

Too bad about about your car, that sucks!

You might want to try Lyons Auto Body in Missisauga due to their excellent warranty [life-time].

Sorry about your vehicle. I'm certain things will sort themselves out.

Stiff upper lip.
I work just down the street from Lyons Auto Body. Pass by them everyday coming in to work and leaving. They are always busy. I've never seen the shop empty. A co-worker from my office had his Acura TL repaired due to some bumper damage. He is really happy with the work. He was told to go there from others in our office.

I got it back!:D I decided on going to Lyon's Autobody because of the recommendations here, and that they could take me in quickly. 427 Auto had a wait of well over a week. Final repair bill came to $2600. The car looks fantastic! Excellent job on the repair, and the speed of repair. They did it in 5 days. My only complaint was charging me $35 a day for a POS 2008 Ford Focus with 140,000km on it, and wonky power steering. However, after 5 days of driving that, my Golf Wagon now feels like a Maybach! Thanks to all for your suggestions and help!:)

and you still haven't reported it?

From http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/topics/reporting.shtml
By law, all motor vehicle collisions must be reported to the police if there are any personal injuries or fatalities, and where damage to vehicles is $1,000 or more. Damage to public or private property must also be reported to the police. Motorists involved in a collision are required to provide their name, address, driver's licence number, licence plate number, insurance information, and the name and address of the registered owner of the vehicle to police and to any person involved in the collision.

Every driver involved in a collision must remain at the scene of the collision to offer assistance when needed especially where there are injuries or fatalities. The penalty for failing to report a collision and/or failing to provide the required information is a fine of $200 to $1,000, three demerit points, a possible jail term and suspension of your driver's licence. The penalty for leaving the scene of a collision also includes seven demerit points.

When reporting a collision to police that does not involve injuries or fatalities, you may be instructed to go to a self-reporting collision centre or a police station. Police will attend the scene of collisions involving a fatality or injury, collisions involving three or more vehicles, or where towing is required.
