Bad CCV and possible fix

Alright, after hours of research and finding almost nothing useful I've come here to ask for help/insight.

My car (CJAA) is sipping oil, I have had issues with my CCV before and in the past what I did was open up the little cover to get to the spring and diaphragm and i stretched the spring a little and sealed it back up, has worked fine for about 2-3 months. But now my car is starting to sip oil again and i suspect its the same issue.

After searching for quite some time I have found a rebuild kit for the pressure control valve portion of the CCV only issue is the full kit was shipping from Kiev, Ukraine and if you pay close close attention to the news you may know there is a bit of a kerfuffle going on over there so I can't order the full kit and instead settled on just the diaphragm from a UK company.

That being said I know this valve only closes under negative pressure situations like a very very dirty air filter. (mine is dirty and due for replacement but I don't think its dirty enough to cause this issue) That being said if I was having a negative pressure situation the valve would be closed, meaning nothing would be going back to the intake after the CCV correct?

SO this has lead me to believe that the cyclones (pictured in the yellow part of the diagram I attached) are clogged/dirty/not separating oil from the air. So im wondering if there is a non-destructive way of separating the grey portion of the diagram from the yellow.

Or if anybody else has any idea what might be going on id greatly appreciate it since my other two option are installing a catch can that drains its contents back into the engine somehow which would be a pain although I have found fittings that go from the CCV hose fitting to a 10AN HERE it says they wont fit our car but I saw pictures from another forum where they do in fact fit.

Also for anybody interested here are links for various parts:
Pressure control valve full rebuild kit (THIS rockauto one is not right i tried it)
Ebay link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265454905060?hash=item3dce5866e4:g:VCwAAOSwgHthurC2

Just the diaphragm (fairly confident its the right size but not 100% sure though i do have one in the mail)
that being said if this is the correct diaphragm it should be the same one for valve cover part numbers; 03L103469, 03L103469S, 03L103469R

THIS one specifically is for the 2014-2015 passat by the looks of it Part number; 03L103469R, engine code CKRA

How much oil are we talking? If it's less than a quart in 5k. It's technically within normal parameters.
more than normal, usually it is almost dead nuts 1 quart every 5k miles. but i brought it in for an oil change and they said it was a quart low when i had just filled it to the line on wednsday of last week

Yeah. Then you have an oil leak. On a cold start check your oil cooler. Top gasket gets hard and leaks when cold.

I will still look but i dont believe its that. mainly because i have had oil consumption issues through the CCV in the past, a slight blue smoke on startup, and that my EGR cooler had a little oil in it when i took the block off plate for an inspection

So you have no oil in your under tray? Have you checked your turbo for play? I have a hard time believing your ccv would flow a quart of oil in a few hundred miles unless you have some bad blowby. If it truly is ccv, check your ic for lots of oil. The ccv tube should also have lots of oil. How many miles?

I do drive a lot, so from the time i filled it to just at or below the top fill line it may have been upwards of 600 ish miles if not more. the car itself has about 150550 miles and I will admit i drive it fairly hard and its deleted and tuned. I dont have my drip tray installed and since it just snowed here today i cant put any cardboard underneath overnight since itll just get wet from the melting snow and be useless. obvously i have oil getting into the intake side of the engine since i saw it inside the egr cooler. I'll take off the little hose tomorrow when i have light to see how much oil is inside.

I do know that the diaphragm for the pressure control valve inside the CCV wasnt in the best shape when i opened it up so im wondering if that finally failed although i do have one in the mail as we speak.

I'm stage and drive hard. I'd check your turbo, and install a catch can. I've 5k on mine and I doubt I have a quart. When I noticed oil going down I had a leak. More than 1

yea i plan on doing the catch can with the AN line conversion fittings i found. But for now I want to try rebuilding the pressure control valve seeing if thats an issue. As well as replacing my air filter with a brand new one since mine was dirty and while i doubt that the filter was leading to a negative pressure situation causing the pressure control valve to close leading oil to build up in the CCV and eventually when the valve opens it sending all that oil into the intake I am slightly worried that the diaphragm is bad leading it to NOT close and be open all the time causing oil to be sucked in past the valve when im under boost since the tube vents to just before the turbo

A rad hose slipped right over mine. Why waste the money on a special fitting.

just wondering, how difficult was it to remove the CCV cover to replace the spring and diaphragm?

thanks

You could re plumb it to the intake directly, or install a ccv filter to catch most of the oil like a provent 200 from mann. When you say you lost 4 pints I'm assuming that is all from the vented ccv line? If not you might want to check your turbo and see if the seals are leaking. If not that then you have some bad blow by or a bad ccv valve or something. That's a lot of oil. Yikes.

Thanks IL check the turbo but the is very high pressure coming from the ccv with oil could it be the motor that's bad however the guy I bought the car from did say that the turbo will need to be reconditioned soon and I'm thinking I'd rather get a different turbo
