After taking a 3 year rest, tried to buy a 09, scared away from fuel issues, look again in 2010 and scared away again, drove a 98 Jetta till it was time to sell, then a 98 E320 Mercedes, nice ride, then I really left my senses and purchased a 2010 Honda Civic, fair mileage, but no power, rattles that no one could find, and then--------the trade in went up in the past 2 months, and the 2011 Jetta came down a bit, traded and what a great vehicle compared to the 99.5 Golf, which was a great vehicle, and the 98 that you could not kill, but could freeze in. While there may still be some issues in the 2011, I am all in and will deal with it as it comes. I have always been able to skirt most fuel issues due to my obsession with its quality. Have my own tank and have it delivered from a very good source and then treat it more. So here is a photo of the Jetta. Mostly 95% highway in the UP and getting around 42-44 with even better with longer trips. The power it has we used to have to chip and modify to experience in the older models. Still love the simplicity of the older models, but hey eventually someone has to try the new ones. They are flying off the dealer's lot in my area.

Funny you should mention that, scheduled this weekend, along with whistling drivers side mirror and drivers door rear air problem. Should by sharp by the end of the day Saturday. Waiting for OEM mud flaps as the dealer does not have any, to keep chips and tar to a minimum.

Too funny that was a lpavlo trick and he will have to come back from Florida to do it for me, his was the only one that it looked good on. Ever make it back from the east coast to Michigan?

True, Lew's did look good. If it would make a difference on mine i'd spray it up in a second, but there are other 'areas' that will be a problem far sooner than the hood/bumper.

Haven't made it back yet...

Noticed on the first wash that there was some type of clear overspray on the vehicle, dealership offered to clay the car, but that would be the same guy that washed it in the first place and did not catch the problem. www.griotsgarage.com and got their clay kit with shine, clothes and clay and what an amazing job the clay with the liquid did. I am sure most have clayed their car at one time or the other, I knew it would be work, but not as bad as I thought. This has been added to my yearly maintenance. What a difference the finish is now.

My daughter just bought one, traded in her mom's 00 silver Golf. Her's is white with cornsilk, tint and trailer hitch. Would look better with 17" wheels, and you can't hear her with the Iphone on bluetooth but other than that, sure is a nice car!

Lew,
Just got the tint and flaps this past weekend, sharpens up the car. Your signature looks like a battle zone with all the cars that have been passed on.
Did you notice they have the undercoating feel in the paint down very low on the sides where you almost can't see it? Remember those days at Hondo's?

Rip, I agree with your 2011 assessment. And UP/Keweenaw are my second favorite snowmobile destination, next to Ontario.

I do remember how scared I was about showing up at Hondo's GTG with the undercoating on the Passat B4V after they had ripped you a new one on the forums!!
But the TDI family turned out to be very sympathetic! Actually that stuff you feel down low is exactly what I used! It came in clear or black!!

I was just thinking about all the fun being had at Marty's this past weekend! Do you still have family in GR? I've got a granddaughter there now!!
