Well 13 months after selling our 2010 back to VW and buying a '16 Outback we bought a 2014 CPO Golf Wagon Highline TDI 6MT. I sold my '04 MKIV with 378k km on the clock for $2700 on Friday, flew to the city yesterday, jumped through the dealer hoops then drove home last night.

Was a great night drive and I couldn't feel much difference with the emissions fix than our 2010 felt last yr when we turned it in. Got 6.3L/100km which wasn't bad as it was a long climb heading East from the coast.

Left over parts from the 2010 included OEM cross bars, OEM front & rear window vents, smoked marked lights, euro spec aspherical mirrors and a box of filters (air, oil and cabin).

DG Skid plate on order!

Nice!

Any initial impressions between the mk6 and mk7?

Different shifter knob? Nothing really stands out that I can say, it really feels just like the 2010 did last year when we turned it in. We had the RCD-510 in our 2010 so kind of missing that but the stereo that is in there has BT so I just stream everything from my phone.

2010 JSW TDI silver and black. 2017 Ram Ecodiesel dark red with brown and beige interior.
Aren't the 10 and 14 JSW built on the same platform? Both more of a 5.5 than a 6. I thought the 15s were the major redesign and were a 7.

2014 is still a MK6. The 2014 should be just about identical to the 2010 except for the backup camera*.

Does "Highline" equate to pano roof and nav like it does in the US?

2009 was the MKV.5, 2010 the MKVI and 2015 was the MKVII body change. Yes Highline is Pano and nav if you get the option, we didn't.
