I believe RC1+ and RC 1.5 increase fueling for the same boost level of the RC1 tunes. Some one else who has an RC1+ might want to chime in here

Along with the previous question, is 1124 or 1134 the better trans mod for a DD that sees suburban traffic daily and some highways traffic on the occasional weekend?

TIA

Gone...
I don't know much about the 1124 code but 1134 has transformed the car for me in urban driving. Even though urban is only about 10% of my driving cycle (at least when I have the car, it's my wife's DD), it really made the car much more pleasant all around.

Damn...I didn't even know about the existence of the 1124 code. What is that?
I'm starting to fall behind in all this...

Thanks, the ECM is with Jeff at RC getting an RC2 tune. Will do an 1134 with a VAG COM locally once the ECM is back.

Had RC2...

until the gp reflash. But anyway...

The one thing that I liked about being chipped (I'm going to try stage 1ish this time) is that when you have people in the car and/or gear, plus maybe a roof rack w/ stuff up there, then throw in air conditioning on top of all that, having the extra power there is near priceless. It's luxurious actually. And if you live in a mountainous area, the extra oomph is quite comforting.

Two straight summers of road tripping from Reno to Oak Ridge, OR for a mountain bike weekend. Bikes and gear, 75 mph, AC on the whole way, 37 mpg, car never skips a beat in the mountains while passing 18 wheelers. There is no way you can do that with stock VW software.

Of course I should be saving for the bs module....

Thanks Jeff!

I dunno. I had the car out Wednesday and yesterday for an 800 km round-trip, and I did do some city driving in that and I found that the delay from standing start and the launch hesitation are near zero since the 1134 recode. It used to be really bad. I had the chance to drive Volkswagendude's RC2 last week and I found that although his was markedly faster with the RC2, he did have the launch delay much more prevalent than mine.

I would say that 1134 does make the car significantly more drivable.
I'd like to bump this thread to correct something that I had written in the past. It seems that I had jumped to a premature conclusion concerning my RC2 and 1134 tranny recode. I have had the RC2 for a few years now(extremely happy with that tune BTW!), but in my feedback on this forum about the RC2, I had posted that I STILL NEEDED to do the 1134 tranny recode mod, as icing on the cake to the RC2.

Well guess what!!! After years of procrastinating, I finally bought one of those ross tech vag-com's(so that I can now do both my T-Reg and Passat), plugged it in the Passat today to recode the tranny, and it was already at 1134!!!

So I guess good ol' Jeff must have done it for me, back when he did the RC2. It's the only logical explaination that I can think of, so thanks Jeff! ;)

Mike, coming back to the day you drove my B5.5 TDI a few months ago, so that we could compare your gear driven B.S vs my chain driven one, as to why mine had more initial lag than yours accelerating from a dead stop, is now beyond me  , with this new discovery I just made today with the Vag-Com.

when jeff did my rc2, i'm pretty sure he said the 1134 recode was something he did staandard on the b5.5's. could be mistaken, but i'm pretty sure it's incorporated. i had already had mine recoded before i got chipped
