I haven't been around much since I moved to a v6 passat gas, but I had this idea ever since I got my Passat.
Most everyone says that you can't mix a tdi engine with a gas transmission due to gearing and whatnot. But I think you can. I was looking at final gear rations, 5th gear speed at rmp. My v6 gas has a lower gearing that a 2.0 tdi. Not a lot but a little. From what I know, a 2.0 passat does 55mph at 2200 rpm, correct me if I am wrong, where a v6 does 55mph at 2000. Which would make it feasable to put a 2.0 tdi with a v6 tranny and 4mo setup. Besides all of the wiring and whatnot that would be associated with it, I think it is actualy not that far fetched. I know that all the other gears will be a little short, but if the engine redlines quicker, wouldn't you go faster. Let me know what you all think.
Oh, is the redline of the 2.0 tdi's still 4800?
