Maybe I’m just more extra handicapped but searching isn’t rendering great results, I’m wondering what oem axles will work for me, are All the auto axles the same for this or is the tdi larger? Seems I find info on swaps more than anything, any help here? I’m just wanting to replace my axle with an oem As it will be much cheaper and friendly on time than swapping joints....thanks! And sorry, I know it’s been discussed.

I think in 01 some time all axles flanges became the same size. 98 to around 01 the 1.8t had the smaller axle flange.

All year v6 flanges fit the 2 years of the tdi. I am using 98 v6 5 speed axles on my 05 tdi, also using the 98 v6 transmission.

Automatic and 5 speed axles are different lengths.

thank you! yeah I knew the Manual axles were different. so it sounds like most any b5 auto axles are compatible....past 01 anyway. THX!

B5.5 began with the new body style sometime in 2001, and you're welcome!

There are just too many to list....
All B5.5 (so, 2001.5+) automatic front axles are the same, regardless of engine. Even the 4Mo cars will use the same front axles.

If you can get the kids out of the jetta it would be a nicer ride but that's usually the case with most vehicles.????
