So if i buy a couple in the UK for £1254 say E1430 each so E2860, stick them in the boot, go on a touring holiday over to Austria, sell them for E1990 each gives a profit of E1120, pop down to Romania and buy one for E899 i'm left E230 for beer. Hmmm

Whats the difference between the 2359 on the 197ps version and the 2359 on the 230ps version?

I'm steadily learning a lot here guys, thanks for all your help so far.

Talking to a UK Garrett dealer, he suggested using a hybrid version of my existing turbo. Still waiting for details. Any opinions?

You'll need bigger turbine too.. sotck turbine is only 39.5mm = way too small

you can talk to our finnish friends, they make hybrids of these..

Finturbo has made few of those. You should email them fin-turbo@fin-turbo.fi

IIRC the largest turbine wheel that fits to the VNT20 housing is over 45mm so its petty good option and Plug and Pray.

no KKK bv50..

Wil not need reclocking and actuator is PWM controlled and could be easily made to work by someone with a little knowledge of electronic circuits..

Maybe you could get your cams regrinded to better angels and maybe there is enough material to make more lift.

The cams regrind themselves over time in these engines :D

Yes I know. Heh. It's a good engine couse it grinds 4 camshafts at the same time. :D

If you change oil under every 8000miles and don't run it at idle alot you'll be fine with this engine.

Just got a response from them, they don't have performance cams for this engine, but they regrind the standard ones.

I don't know what this means:confused::eek: sorry for my ignorance

must be someone who could make performance cams for this engine.

@Fed & fjtwelve: I am also looking forward having a bigger turbo for my 2,5l V6 TDI 150 hp. I already use bigger nozzles that are great but I need more air in the combustion chamber. Currently I run the turbo charger from the 180 PS engine but I don't want to test where the limit for this turbo charger is  . I already have a GT22 that I want to combine with a 56er compressor side. The car is at the moment at least as fast as a 240 hp TDI like the 3.0l A6 TDI, maximum speed I ever reached was 260 km/h with little smoke in a flat area. I was satisfied with this setup for some time now but I want more :D . I hope you keep this thread up to date about your modifications.

I never did a dyno, i am reporting just from experience with comparisons to other cars in "live" environment  (like BMW 530d). The nozzles I use are from the 2,5l V6 180 PS version, but with increased flow rate more than stock. The car is pulling great, I had to reduce iq because of dmfw shudder and slipping clutch in the revs below 3000 rpm. but above 3200 rpm i am missing some more pressure from the turbo charger (don't want to break it) to burn some more fuel :D without too much smoke.

I am still waiting for my nozzles. I have decided to go with a hybrid turbo as it keeps the manifold work away. I have now found a relatively local remapping company who will dyno the car as it is, return to standard map, put their remap on, then remap with the nozzles. I'll post all the figures for info. When i have saved up for the turbo they'll remap again charging only for the dyno time. Sounds a great plan but lets see how it works out in reality.

can't wait for the dyno results.

I think I will also go with a hybrid too. Need to start saving. But in the mean time I will want to get the r683's and a remap. Will the car run ok with these nozzles and a remap until I get the turbo?

If you don't demand the extra power you can go with the r683 and remap and the oem turbo. But keep in mind that the oem turbo on these 150 bhp v6 TDIs gets blown easily.
