Audi 80 1.9tdi 1z compatible turbo upgrades

Hello im a newbie that has a crazy itch to make his audi 80 faster

Im looking to upgrade the turbo and nozzles but don’t want to do a lot of work are there any compatible turbos that are easy to install. Would get the tune done by a professional
It’s a 1996 audi 80b4 1.9tdi 1z

if you got any other ways to get power out of it i would love to hear it

You can fit a bigger turbo fairly easily on that car. An easier route, however, is to just put bigger nozzles on it.

Only issue in the OP case it’s the very ancient ecu, not many are prepared to do chip tunes anymore and in your particular case the Map sensor is soldered onto the ecu.
Some people have upgraded to msa15/edc15 which helps a lot. Remember parts/chips for these ecu’s are becoming obsolete so do your research first. As above, turbo and injectors are the easy part to source and fit…

Kerma TDI does a tune for a 1z with the socketed chip. I don't know if your ECU is the same as a B4 Passat with a 1Z.
Their website does say they can add the socket to the ECU for European cars for another $150.
