When do you have to choose your method of payment? Also, how does one go about changing their method if they so desire?
Thx.

When you actually schedule your appointment you can select which ever you wish no matter what your original selection was.

I was not offered any choice when I made my appointment. I don't remember if I originally specified a preference, and nowhere can I find how to confirm I chose EFT or anyway to change to EFT.

I don't recall whether I was asked during the initial process.

Definitely asked to choose during offer upload or scheduling.

Some here have reported successfully changing their detection by calling the hotline.

There's no way to verify your preference on the portal.

I requested the check. Dropped off the car and was handed a check right then.

I decided pretty early on. I knew I was going to be very close to the next mileage bracket up at turn-in time, which cemented it for me. I ended up not going over, but it was every bit as close as I expected.

I don't think that I would have had the money any faster had I selected check, because I don't know how long the hold would have been placed on the deposit. I would have deposited the check on Thursday afternoon, and the only way it would have been faster is if there was no hold placed on it at all, which seems unlikely. The EFT funds were in my account Monday morning.

It is in the Settlement Agreement. You select choice of payment by checking a box, then sign and have notarized. After upload and approval by VW you are linked to your nearest VW dealer to setup an appointment.

At 8:12 pm the might after buyback, when the Chase email arrives.

Yes, yes and no.

It's all done online with Chase.

...and as a separate point, there's no point in the process where you get a cashier's check. You get a business check from VW if you choose the check option, not a cashier's check from the bank.

You were able to select an option of Check or EFT back in the beginning but you were able to change your selection when uploading your offer letter. I did this on my last car as I had selected check option but I had been driving this car and was worried about milage so changed it to EFT with no issues.
