My daily driver is my ram ecodiesel. I like sitting up higher and it's easier to get into with a broken pelvis. My wife dailys in the JSW but it's mostly over to my daughter's which is only 7 miles. I did drive it yesterday for errands. Even with the EPA "fix", I still like the feeling of power in such a small package. My headliner has also started to fall down and haven't decided what to do.

Still driving the 03 wagon. Should turn 600K shortly. Rust is the main issue, bad all around, might scrap the car this year. Just waiting for something major to go like the reman 01M which has lasted far longer than the original.

Hi guys! Haven't looked in here for a while. With a new toyota rav 4 prime and a 2018 subaru in the driveway.... not much wrenching required anymore. I do miss the vws... hope everyone is well. Craig

I've seen and sat in the new Rav4's. They look good and feel pretty comfy! I know someone who does overlanding in his. Loves it.

How do you like the prime? Very complicated drivetrain, but fascinating how the manage the electric motor(s) to make what, 8 different drive modes?
When I first saw it was a "cvt" I thought *hell no*, but after some research found that there's no failarific Nissan style belt cvt rather it's controlled via two Motors and planetary gearsets to create ratios... Fascinating.

Traded the BEW Wagon in for a 335d which was recently swapped out for a G30 540i. That B58/ZF8 combo gets stupid mileage for what it is. 335d is under the knife for a HG replacement (Too many runs to Mexico I guess)

Neighbour has a MK4 TDI with well over 700k on it, still his daily. I told him he can't sell it until it's over a million.

I've always wanted a 335d wagon. I know the 6 cylinder BMW diesels are powerhouses. Although I would want a manual, I know the automatics arent like VWs and are way better (So I've heard).

My 2003 wagon is just over 711K km now. I love driving it and I'm slowly replacing some older bits. Next up will be front subframe as the bushings are rough. Since it's originally an Ontario car, my shop has found a decent new subframe with bushings, so just replacing the whole thing. (y) Got a spare engine for it too, so planning on keeping it going for some time to come.

My god it's like going back in time. Handles I hadn't seen for some time like Craig01b and LNXGUY fellows I had met some years back. Good to see you are still around!

I’m still driving mine. Have a 2000 for the winter, 2011 for the summer. A spare 2002 ALH when the first one dies and just picked up a 2015 6speed last week that needs a few things and a delete. Anyone know the best place to get a tune/delete now? The Rawtek pipe looks nice but it’s big $$$

Funny, i've been a member(originally my handle was different but lost all the sign in) for about 15 years. Not as active as a lot of you obviously. It is sad to see the chatter slowly die off. I always came here looking for help or direction and always got it.
my 2014 Passat had the entire fuel system fail at around 185000kms. Got quoted 11k to fix it. Lucky the extended warranty covered it at VW. I spend about 2k per year on upkeep and have done some work myself. Most however I have a mechanic that will come to the house..
As long as I can keep the cost below 3k per year I'll keep driving it. 282000kms and looking to get it to 4 or 5 hundred.
All highway kms and picked up the car 4 years ago with only 52000 on it.

I actually drove my JSW today! From a facebook memory, it took us 6 years for the first 100k miles. The last 62k miles have taken 8 years. At least one of those was during the covid shutdown when nothing was being driven and that forced my wife to retire from teaching.
