I did not make 1,200 or even 1,000 miles to this tank, but:

Driver: Frederal
Miles: 891.9
Gallons: 14.58
Model Year: 2005.5
Model: Jetta TDI MKV
Tranny: 5m
Fuel Type: Amoco ulsd#2 PS
MPG: 61.17

Average of 61.17 mpg, 0-60 who cares, always driving like NO ONE ELSE IS PAYING FOR MY FUEL BESIDES ME & this is my last tank of fuel. Hybrid/shmybrid. Never speeding and almost always 5 or more under in the right lane. Very little braking, lots of coasting, 40 psi in the tires, always leave early. Upshifts: 1-2 @ 10-12mph, 2-3 @ 18-20 mph, 3-4 @ 28-30 mph & 4-5 @ 38-42 mph.

I have started to drive WAY slower than normal and in a 1/2 tank I see a huge difference... I used to drive no less than 80 on my commute to work and to my GF's college and I could only average about 43MPG.... Now, I drive 59mph at all times...no more...I accelerate slowly and it has only added 4 minutes to my work commute.... I used to get 350 miles at half tank...on this last tank, I got 430 miles on the half... I expect my first 700 mile tank ever...maybe even better.

Good Going, Joe!! Remember, after the fuel light goes on, you should have another two gallons of fuel. I put 17.38 gallons in my '03 Jetta Wagon.

Blue Hen and Chuck KA1CQR are the only others to drive over 3000 miles last month, and I beat them both by over 1600 miles. What is with all you TDI drivers? Get out there on the road! Drivers Wanted.

__. Hey, hode dah phome, Red. I only missed 3000 by a few miles (as of yesterday, I was top miles in the Top 40 and I was working for a living during that month -- but that won't last).

__. Not bad for a grey haired, broken down, old, thowed out, retired guy who drives slow, huh?

I am working massive amounts of overtime which is preventing me from driving anywhere other than work. Hopefully by July the overtime will cease a bit and I can get on some road trips.

I fully plan on hitting the Jersey shore and Atlantic City when I go to Waterfest 14 in Englishtown, NJ on July 20th.

I should rack up some serious miles that month but probably not the best fuel mileage because of the cruise to the Waterfest show.... you slowly pick up lots of VWs and Audis on the way down and there is plenty of power competition going on.... I want to see how well I can keep up with GLI's, GTI's, and so on.
