mpg: 52.111 Lots of spirited driving coming home from a trip to Herm's. He did a masterful job of cleaning the old EGR. I had forgotten how fun this car was to drive. I'll get back to reasonable next tank:D Still works out to 0.0824 cents per mile.

BOO! Broke my streak of 50+ tanks, and greenskeeper is bloody gonna break my streak of B90+ monthly wins!

Oh well...good job GK. If the entire country would have a mileage contest, or a bunch of little ones, and it helped us all to save fuel, I'd be happy. :D

Driving around the speed limints, 90% highway/freeway, 50 mile commute. A couple of trips to store etc with the family but mostly just by myself commuting to work with a moderate fuel saving effort. (Nothing really radical)

mpg: 44.9 I tried to make it to the end of the month, but I didn't. I hope this tank isn't winterised but it says it is until 4/30. Some very windy days, rain etc. I have my DRL disabled now(doubt it will help) hope to see a little increase.

Is it better if I put all my fill-ups for the month in 1 post?
Joe,
My own personal preference is that you post the month's worth at once.
I think that differs depending upon who is doing the compiling for the month; some folks like to see the variation from tank to tank that everyone gets.
It is not a big deal either way.
I hope someone else is doing the compiling next month, so my opinion is of little value.

Who is doing the compiling next month?

We need an original poster who is willing to compile the data next month.
If I keep it, the updates will be even slower and more sporadic than this month.
Please PM me if you want the job and I will mail you the spreadsheet.

Please check your April totals for accuracy

We are near the end of the month. I just upated about 50 entries, and mistakes are very possible.

Please check that I have correctly compiled your April entries.

DanG,

I found one in my info. The gallons are compiled as 17.134 and I posted 17.314. While I wish I had gotten 48.4 MPG I only got 47.9 MPG.

The daily commute driving for economy some but putting the occasional blast in so by no manner or means hypermiling. I will try another entire tank driving gently after a long vacation in May, I'll have more patience by then.:)

taller 195/65/15 tires-38PSI, air dam, small lift gate tail, <70MPH normal.

No matter what, the B4 V. makes ~ 39 MPG day after day in the mountains...

Edit: Running BS Potenza tires with about 20-30% of thread left -- not LRR, very noisy. Have a set of Michelins that will go on when I can't tolerate the Potenzas any more -- I know they are costing me at least 1 mpg and probably more.

AMENDED

(Note: To even off the month, I filled on the eve of May 1, '08 -- here's what that changes to for April. Sorry that the beginning of the month [overlapping with March] is so raggedy.)

Also use 8oz. 2cycle oil for lubrication. Have dropped speed from 69 to 65, and recently pulled off large HF ham radio antenna, as suggested the bike or luggage rack may reduce mileage. I did see an increase in my mileage there.
