This is not a true 1k tank. My Injection Pump was getting
a little noisy, and I felt it needed some Bio, so I ran it up to
985 miles (and I was running on fumes, SCII indicated
71.4 for the last 40 miles) and put in 6 gallons of B20, and then continued on to my Kroger station and put in another 11.196 gallons.

I have a variable fuel guage! This tank upset me. I could have made my third 1k mile tank easily, but my gauge told me I was running on fumes! I should have trusted my Scan Gage. This isn't the first time I thought my dash
gauge was lying to me. Anyone else notice a variability
from tank to tank?

YAY! Two 50+ tanks in a row. :p So rare these days, since I have to crawl along with the rest of the 8am crowd. *sigh* I'm working on one of my co-workers to carpool with me, so I can use the HOV lane and maybe return to the near-constant 52-56 bliss I had at my last job.

Hmm...I wonder if I can get best B90+ mileage for a SIXTH STRAIGHT MONTH! :D :D :D (Maybe more than that, but some of the graphic results charts are missing before that.)

Howdy folks - It's been a while since the gas-burning rice-a-roni JyRO has posted on here. I'm needing fuel so maybe I'll have another entry tomorrow.

I re-read the rules after posting my previous tankfull. Seems like it is preferred now to combine all your miles with all your gallons for the month ... not individual tanks. I hope I do not have to gas up again until the beginning of next month.

So, the below is the 2 tanks (this one and the one on the previous page) combined, that should be all I have for this month:

About 63MPG.
Almost 100% freeway, 100 mile round trip commute into Atlanta in post rush hour. Driving moderately for economy about the speed limit in the Right lane(s). No extreme hypermiling: no drafting etc.

The short trips outweigh the few longer trips to Baltimore and Pennsylvania plus the cruising at 85 plus and 95 to 100 for 30 minutes or more is never good for fuel economy. Just broke 10,000 miles

This is actually 3 fillups this month. Found it easier to just total them than to separate them.

The wagon miles are my wife's, not mine, but she has no screen name.
<edit> She is now registered as Bonjonbart because she thinks "Lug_Nut" is an absolutely stupid, stupid name.
Oh well, if she married me, and I married her, then tell me... who's stupid?

p.p.s.: Me, if she logs on and sees this.<end edit>

This was one trip - there and back (one tank each). expressway mostly, but traffic was awful on the way back and the mileage reflects this - even though coming back had more downhill than going there. Cruise control whenever possible, not hot enough to need A/C.

Who says you can't get 700 mi on a 2006 Jetta

This 52 mpg is 'cheating'; non of the miles are highway, they're all small town, flat streets, speed limit about 45 max. The other drivers are slow, there's absolutely no rush.
Car has less than 20K on it; took it in early at 19K for the warrranty required 20K checkup, oil was just below hatch mark on dipstick.
Checked new oil after dealer changed it. Oil is only 1/4 way up hatch mark.
There's the culprit; shorted by the naughty dealer~~ Will have to have speaks with him (-:

Finally got 60 mpg!!! After filling up realized I had only bured 15 gallons. I had at least one gallon left. I burned 16 before on a fully vented tank but was afraid to go any further. Can someone tell me how exactly how many gallons I have to burn before I am pushing??? I'm still trying for that elusive 1000 mile tank...

112 mile round trip commute 90% freeway. cruise control set at 60 mph. getting a scangauge maybe that will get me more... this is addictive!

My 2005 Jetta runs dry on level ground at 16.5 gallons used, this is from a level in the neck about 1" below spilling out the fill opening.
