Anywhere in Seattle to chip/tune a 2014 TDI/DSG Beetle?

Picking up the car tomorrow and researching what the deal is on modding these 2.0 engines - hoping for a local shop. (Won't happen for a few months yet, but planning. )

You can make the drive up to Vancouver BC and get tuned by Mark Malone of Malone Tuning. Nothing like meeting the guy in person and having him do the tune live.

I would definitely email Mark Malone. There might be some minor differences between 2013 and 2014 ECUs and Mark can look at what you have and see what he will have to do. For a brand new model year car - I would definitely stick with Malone (especially since he is not that far away from you).

You shouldn't have to go all the way up to Canada for a tune, check out his website, there are a few local authorized dealers.

How would they know? Have they implemented random OBD2 scans at the border now? Not that it would surprise me though...

Just an FYI - RCMP is a completely different entity from the CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) which is who you see working at the Canadian border. And coming into Canada is pretty easy for Americans because of the US dollar's strength, which means lots of US shoppers coming across the border.

Canadian shoppers are the one that fill the stores around Bellingham, WA by the thousands. For US shoppers it's a lot cheaper in the US. Very few come to Canada for shopping..... Maybe for a Beer.
