I found it rattling around by the steering linkage on the last oil change. I poked around a while, but where it came from I could not find. Please let me know. I have a road trip coming up at the end of the month.

Thank you for your knowledge,

never seen that anywhere on my car. I have done my own oil changes and timing belt. looks like a dust cover for a funnel. And I agree, looks like a great dog !!!!

Thank you for your input!

Thanks,

When I found that cap after taking the sump cover off of the car. It turned the hour I had expected to change my oil into three and a half hours of *** is this and Where TF did it come from. I am reasonable confident it did not come from my VW. I couldn't find a open anything it might have come from. And I have even less of clue how it wound up on top of the steering gear.

That is my dog. Her name is Lexi Lou and she is a Shiba-Inu. And she is a wonderful friend to have in my life.

Not sure what is up with winders 10 and posting an IMG file. But it looks like I will need for figure it out.

Throw it out, don't worry about it. It's a protection cap for a part that was installed and was dropped by mistake instead of getting ditched

Ya, that's not a cover that needs to be replaced... it's probably not even from your car.
