Quite a few times and I am not trying to break any records. I like to drive my TDI as I wish and am not a slave to the mileage thing. To me its just a bonus to a nice low reving quiet car.

So yes, and that even included a percentage of city driving and with highway speeds set at a true 115 km/hr.

The other week with the cruise set to 98 km/hr, I was getting 4.2l/100 kms or 67 MPG Imperial over a 200 km trip.

Not bad. No complaints.

My best was 994KM and it was tight!
I usually fill up when the light comes on.

Lifetime average so far is 6.19L/100km. That's city/highway.

I have a long trip from Keswick, Ontario to Niagara Falls, Ontario and back with 2 weeks of commuting; doing just 110km/h with cruise control, of which i hit 1148km and fuelled up with 55.2L.
If my fuelly does not pop up; my average for about 27000km is 5.7L/100km.
I avoid using cruise control now; and just try to ride the hills.
All of my 1000km tanks were gruelling, and now i just fuel up at about 1/2.
Always added Power Service, silver or white, but recently purchased some Archoil; hopefully it works out well.

I just finished some road trips, averaging about 5.1L/100KM. Though I didn't hit that magical 1000km number I could have.

Each time I decided to fuel up before the trip since I was going to be driving through some pretty rural areas (Vancouver to Edmonton to Fort St. John to Williams Lake, my wife is now in Nimpo Lake so I wanted her to fuel in Williams Lake before she went into that area; I'm not sure how good the fuel will be there)

Perhaps it was the mountains, perhaps it was travelling elevated speeds (10 over the speed limit most of the time, which means 120 in places and often 110). Or perhaps it was also the very loaded car (the trunk had no spare space)
