Well it's still doing it- downshifting too easily under load, not cutting throttle instantly when letting off the pedal, not downshifting fast enough coming to a stop, general loss of throttle sensitivity, etc. Maybe it was never a transmission problem to begin with?

2012 Jetta TDI w/DSG(transmission failed w/800 miles on it) 2012 Passat SE w/Sunroof -65k traded in on 2013 Passat TDI SE w/Sunroof 2006 Ford F350 on 37's, few things deleted, little methanol injection, few things modded, few more filters added :)

I think it's a competency issue with the techs servicing your car. It's hard to believe that a new trans/mechatronic would continue causing your problem.

Have you driven other Jetta TDI DSGs? I know I'm making certain adjustments for the "quirks" of my DSGs, and wonder if your expectations of responsiveness are unrealistic? I also know that if I drive a certain way (in D mode), I can easily confuse both my DSGs. It really prefers measured input, not sudden, unless I'm in S or Tip.

Have you posted this problem in the appropriate (Mk VI) forum?

I did drive another identically optioned car to prove to the dealership I wasn't imagining it. The fact that this trans is quirky makes proving the problem much more difficult. I know I'm not imagining it- the most noticeable part of the problem is it not cutting throttle instantly when I let off the pedal. It's brief, but it is a very odd feeling- especially in traffic on the highway and the car continues to pull me toward the car I'm following before I can hit the brake.

I'm going to take it into the same dealer or possibly a different VW dealer today. My attorney did get an offer from VW but it was only for $1000; he said I'm technically out of the lemon law by mileage so I should just accept the offer. It stinks though because I owe almost $20k on the car, put $4k down, and I am concerned about getting enough to pay it off even if I were to sell it. Question; does this car have a throttle valve/cable? I'm thinking it's something like that or a bad sensor or egr, not a mechanical problem in the transmission.

There are no mechanical throttle connections. Everything is electronic.

Also, I'm going to start moving all of your posts into the Mk6 Jetta forum if you don't do it yourself.

Happy with my DSG considering it's an auto. Really wanted the manual trans but the wife had an audi S4 manual before and got stuck on a hill just a few weeks before we got the passat. Sure, you can confuse it, it isnt quite as perfect as a manual trans but it's as close as you can get right now. MPG is pretty good too.

We only have 6k on ours but no issues.

VW upped their offer to $3k and I took it. The dealer said one of the 15 bolts holding the mech unit onto the new trans wasn't torqued down enough from the factory when they received it so they replaced that mech unit but not the trans again. I suggested they replace the whole trans again check tps, egr, etc. Gonna get the car checked out once more and if they cannot fix it I'm trading it in, end of story. Scion dealer offered me what I owe on the car as a trade on a FRS.
