My JVC-driving-an-iPod car stereo is starting to misbehave... good excuse to think about an upgrade. 
I only listen to MP3s these days, so don't need anything with a disk drive. There's lots of 2 DIN Android stereos, and some 1 DIN with pop-out screens, but my Scangauge sits above my stereo so don't want to block it with the pop-up.
So... the ideal car stereo for me would simply have a big hard drive or memory card slot and good software that lets me select playlists sorted by artist, album etc.
Sounds like Android... except for the 1-DIN part... anyone ever found anything like that?
