I have a 2006 BRM DSG jetta that has just started bucking below 2000rpm then above this, it drives like a scalded cat with some increased smoke. I have read everything from EGR and turbo actuators enough to make my head spin. I don't know how to test these, I suppose I could read about how to do it, but I wouldn't trust the result. Even if you are not a shop but know what you are doing, I am willing to pay.

thanks.

If you have a laptop, I've got a vcds cable and we can run a systems scan to recover any fault codes stored in the ecm to give us a better idea as to what is wrong.

JS Performance is right over the border in Abbotsford, they've done most all of the work on my car. They know what they are doing and are honest, good people

Or, Diesel Outfitters in North Smokey Point is good. Tell Mike that Jetta Girl sent you. :)

thanks for the feedback I will try to look those people up. FYI, I unplugged the EGR and the Anti shudder valve and my car is running great. I don't know which is failing but I think it is the ASV closing too much. I don't think I want to plug these back in, do you have to remove the turbo to do the EGR?
thanks,

Your asv is likely shot. The gears are brittle and can break causing issues.

The ash is also used in sync to throttle the engine to ingest greater amounts of egr.
