ETA 2011 TDi BUT IDI is calling me something fierce!
And I'm hoping VW will have ironed out all the bugs by then, kinda like they did with the 03s. 3rd year after a model change is usually the best right?

Just so your aware, the new Jetta sedan if it looks anything like this concept will be beautiful. Looks very Audi! Which is a good thing!
I want to say the new Jetta sedan will be out in 2012? There is a new plant being built in Chattanooga, TN and will open in 2012. Maybe wise to let one or two model years pass before buying a car built at a brand new plant, with new employees, with new machines...etc. Think Toyota Tunda plant in San Antonio.

I read somewhere the 2011 Jetta will be A6 chassis.
I too have a 2011 in mind due to cam wear in progress. But if this new body gets confirmed for 2012, I'll wait (although cam will not). Since I seek a TDI worthy of 300k miles it would be nice to do so in a truely German look.

Was at Chicago Auto Show tonight... VW claiming the Jetta coupe concept will be a reality in 2012.
The Chevy Volt concept looked great. After inquiring about details I'm convinced it's still a pipe dream. The floor pimp said Volt should be in showrooms next year, but when I inquired about the number of prototypes on the road, he replied, "none."

And yet, that's wrong. Prototypes have been on the road in Cruze bodies for a long time, and they have actually built a few FULLY FUNCTIONAL volts for final testing. They're going to be on the market this year. Might be DECEMBER, but it'll be out. I liked the Volt. Sharp car, cool features, and an insane possible fuel efficiency.. if only someone would have replaced the ecotec generator with a diesel...
