weird question I know. Im looking for a spot for wvo tank but not in the trunk or spare tire location. Any ideas like maybe somewhere underneath the car?
its an 03 wagon

Getting a used veg tank clean enough to get it prepped for re-weld might be kinda tricky. It's not impossible, but depending on how the inside looks it could be a lot of work for a good weldthanks guys. I have a 40 gallon grease car tank leftover from when I redid my F350s system so I will probably have someone cut that up for me and reweld (hopefully). I just don't want to install it inside the car since its a wagon.
If you are willing to mount a side exit exhaust there is a lot of room in the exhaust tunnel.weird question I know. Im looking for a spot for wvo tank but not in the trunk or spare tire location. Any ideas like maybe somewhere underneath the car?

I have to ask if you have experience with welding? Theres no way any type of grease is going to get in the way of 1000 degree melted aluminum. I have a pretty good idea of cutting down the 40 gallon tank its just I don't have my jetta near me right now and not really sure what the underside looks like.Getting a used veg tank clean enough to get it prepped for re-weld might be kinda tricky. I'm not trying to criticize any welding skill you have. I only have a little. My buddy had a similar project of cutting down an old 40 gal tank that had been sitting for 2 years or so. It had some polymerization and was pretty beat up, If i remember correctly he welded it but it wasn't the cleanest weld.I have to ask if you have experience with welding? thanks for the concern but the whole point of this thread is tank placement outside of the vehicle.I'm not trying to criticize any welding skill you have. I only have a little. The little experience I do have tells me to always clean extremely well prior to welding, bc any dirt or grease that gets mixed up with the melted pool can compromise the weld. I was just saying that because if you do put the tank in the trunk, a bad weld is way worse than some fumes.
How about inside the car under the rear seat? You didn't say how big the WVO tank had to be. Might get 4 or 5 gallons under there in a bladder.weird question I know. Im looking for a spot for wvo tank but not in the trunk or spare tire location. Any ideas like maybe somewhere underneath the car?

I'm thinking of making an auxilliary diesel tank to fit in this location, if not a tank to store race fuel for my dirt bike.....If you are willing to mount a side exit exhaust there is a lot of room in the exhaust tunnel.
Take a look underneath and you'll see what I mean.
I would make the tank out of 6" or so pipe. Very easy to fabricate.![]()
