Must have just missed you, I think I left about 1:00.
Many thanks to Fred for hosting and helping tweek my Golf. The TDI toyota was cool and has me thinking of other transplants.

PS, those were Bilstein TC Comfort Stuts/Shocks on my car. I could not think of the brand at the time.

Looks like vgr is interested in meeting at this car show in Scottsdale every last Saturday of the month, which I think is a great idea and plan to make it whenever I can. The only issue is vgr is saying that it's every Saturday, and so does AZCentral yet the official talking stick website says it's every Sunday. Maybe someone who's been recently can confirm the day.

It was nice meeting you all this weekend.. I had a blast and it was great to get some other eyes and ears to help me with some diagnostics on my car. Have already ordered some more parts to install.
FYI, the Pavillions cruise-in is always on Saturdays and happens every weekend. It's a free come and go anytime style of event with areas for all car enthusiasts to park and show off their rides. The classic cars all park just to the west of McDonalds. Other cars will park just across the aisle in the north part of the parking lot. In the winter, the cruise-in usually starts early.. around 1-2pm and goes until 9-10pm later. Summertime, the bulk of the cars show up around 5-6pm and go until midnight or later.
Bring a lawn chair to make yourself comfortable and enjoy the evening.. There are always some amazing rides out there (something for everybody) and if you are a gearhead, you'll absolutely love this event. Its usually a lot of fun and even more fun when you can meet up with a group out there to spend the afternoon with. Cars are always coming and going all afternoon, so you'll see a lot of nice rides.

Yep, I think I had JUST missed you, as I showed up shortly after 1 and stayed till after 4 or so. A good time was had by all. Look forward to meeting you at the next one!

I see, I don't have my tdi anymore but if anyone is gonna go out to the pavilions let me know and I'd love to come out and see some tdi's.

I have only been to Woodshed I at Baseline and Mill. II is at Dobson and University. The burgers are still good on other days, just not a bargain.
Fred - We were talking about the pavilions for the 23rd, although I'm doing paintball at some point that day, so I'm not sure what time I'd roll up.
3turboz & Brad95 - I'm free pretty much any tuesday, a burger & beer for 4.95 sounds like it can't be beat.

Well, I started to cannge my ERG last week, and that turned into an intake manifold cleaning. Hopefully it will not turn into something more than that! If all goes well I will be there around sundown.
Barros, YC's and Fillibertos are all on site, as is Mcdonalds if anyone wants to hook up for dinner.

I should be down for this weekend. I'd say lets meet at like 3pm or so.. When its cooler out, the cruise-in tends to start earlier. When you get there, you'll see the main classic car show is held just adjacent to the McDonalds (red area in image below).. We'll want to park just north of that area (on the side closer to YC's grill), The spot marked in green below would work well. There will probably be other cars there not in our group. Just find a spot and we'll move cars around as spots open up to get cars next to eachother.
When you guys get there, you'll want to back into the parking spots. Don't be too concerned about making cars perfect, etc... There is NO entry fee or cost to attend. its just a fun cruise-in where people get to talk cars, kick tires, and see some amazing rides in one spot. Gearhead heaven. I'll probably give my car a wash and shine it up a little.

I got everything back together, just waiting for some silicone to cure before I start it up and see if I managed to keep big chunks or crud out of the intake valves. Will know tomorrow....
I'm racing dirt bikes Saturday but should roll in towards the evening. Somone with a smart phone post up where you are parked if different that the map.
