Anti-theft system!!

how do i turn it off? don't want it on because it doesn't help me and keep causing problems. heres the problem- when i lock the car with my remote all the doors lock and antitheft comes on with blinking red light. now when i unlock the car with the remote it unlocks and antitheft comes off, if i use the key for my door the door unlocks but antitheft stays on. why wont it come off like it used to? now when i open door with key it starts beeping, its really annoying. any help?

If I'm understanding your problem correctly, my '97 Passat TDi does the same thing. If I use the remote to lock the lock the car and then attempt to unlock the car with the key, the alarm will go off. I avoid the problem by using only the remote or using only the key ....
