In everyday driving around town, does having the anti-skid and ABS lights lit on the dash have any impact on driving? acceleration? Are they worth finding what the issue is and fixing it? I have read that when the anti skid light is on, the engine power is cut by 50% by the car computer. Is this true? The engine light is not on, btw., just these two. These lights to turn on and off periodically.

there is clearly something wrong. you need to get someone with a VCDS to read the faults to see what's up.

In the meantime, your ABS and traction control don't work

I never had any loss of power when my ABS light was on. The right front cable needed replacing.
