I, like many of recent, am the new owner of a 2011 TDI Jetta. I've had her for a little over a week and so far I love her!

Now, I will admit, it was hard going to the TDI because the vehicle I traded was a 2009 Infiniti G37X, Black on Wheat with premium and nav packages, but I am very excited about having a great vehicle with a low cost of ownership. I was putting premium fuel in the infiniti, so the price difference for diesel (at least around me in Central Pennsylvania) is neglegible.

Usual whistles and bells for the '11 TDI minus Navigation. I can get that for under $200.00 via Tom Tom or Garmin. (had nav package in the G37, and it was nice--but not worth the money)
DSG Automatic (again as previously mentioned by others, the misses refuses to learn manual)

Signed, Sealed, and Delivered $22,800.00 USD--that is after taxes, after tags, after title.

Beautiful car, welcome to the club! Take advantage of those free oil changes but be sure the dealer is using the right 507.00 oil.

Lots of members have been joining Fuelly.com to keep track of their mileage. The more aware you are of your MPG the greater chances you will drive efficiently!

can you post some bigger photos? I was really wondering about that color when I saw it on the VW website. Looks like just a different shade of silver?

Fixed!

It is a silver with a hint of gold coloring... next to a white or silver car it's a lot more noticable... and also in the snow (that we have now). I'd take current ones in the snow but there's so much road muck and salt on the car it looks gray. I assure she is getting a shower this weekend!

Makes me feel like I got ripped off... I signed for $27,300 for my 2010 Jetta TDI (DSG, sunroof, 17" Avignon wheels). I'm amazed you managed to pay $4,500 less.

To be fair your car has roof, upgraded wheel and higher MSRP even without these options... Sounds like reasonable difference.

Very,Very Nice Looking Car

I have to say as I see more and more photos of the 11' Jetta I'm starting to like the design. I'll admit I felt let down when VW decided to stop building the Mark V body. I always liked VW's because their designs "stood out from the pack". The new Mark VI body does seem to share some similar angles and curves to need I say (H***A) but seems to have a more upscale look to me.

Again, nice looking car and congratulations.

His car also has a sunroof...
I used a zag service through USAA... it's a car buyers service that gives big discounts off MSRP and usually about a grand (at least, sometimes a lot more) off invoice price.

Dealerships get money from VW for moving cars, so higher volume dealers will participate in the program despite not making money off the car itself. They make their money from moving cars.

I second the beautiful car comments. Although I love my 2010, I do appreciate the 2011s. Why did you get rid of the 2009 Infiniti, just out of curiosity?

Well, it was a long considered option to trade in the G; I rolled around with the idea for a few months. That car was spectacular (at times I still miss it over the Jetta), but in short it was a matter of putting my money in a better place. The transition to the Jetta saves me about $250.00 per month between car payment and fuel consumption savings.

That $250 is better put into investments, savings, or other family-oriented stuff. It was hard to say goodbye, that's for sure.
