Another Audi A4 TDI conversion

I know, and have searched on previous subject matter, but I'd like to know if I could just source a crate motor/harness/ECM for my 97 Audi A4. I think it would probably be easier to install a 97 spec powertrain instead of trying to retrofit something newer.

Any info would help, as this subject is pretty rare, Thanks
