My bet is the oil filter housing and not the EGR cooler if he is leaking oil AND coolant.

Hard to see without pictures or anything as well. But I've seen some people replace the EGR cooler cause they say coolant in the valley but also had oil leaking in the front of the engine. Ended up being the oil filter housing as it also houses the thermostat. Seeing more of these. But I mean if he is deleting the emissions, then I would delete the EGR cooler anyways just for peace of mind since it will be useless anyways.

There are just too many to list....
When they clog up, they DO start to leak... oil. Because the EGR tube that drops from the intermediate intake pipe now starts to collect oil from the breather system that would normally just blow through... and it collects in that tube, all the way down to the cooler itself, and because that is all under boost pressure, it eventually starts to shawshank its way through anywhere it can, which includes the vacuum servo on top of the EGR cooler itself, and starts making this huge oily mess everywhere.

Awful messy job. Done a bunch of them, and there is going to be a bunch more as all these come out of warranty.

For sure a messy job. Especially trying to clean all that coolant/oil in the valley and front of the engine if its been leaking for a long time. One thing to look out for as well is the alternator usually gets covered in all of this and with them already knowingly failing but seizing up, This for sure doesnt help. Also the serp belt if its covered in coolant/oil.

Don’t get me started on alternators. Also have gone through 2 of those in the last 4 years. Last one was $1800 to replace. Whatever happened to the $400 alternator job?

Damn, I'm surprised you still have the vehicle if its costed you this much so far and you've replaced the same parts over again.

Just yesterday on the TDI V6 club on facebook -- he said he'll be back in stock in 8-10 days
Yeah I saw him say that. I’ve been texting him about manufacturing with me. Hopefully that means less downtime between batches and easier availability from Canada

I was not a fan of that one. Because the hoses are not really ideal shape wise, I ended up using one hose from a BEW G/J ATF cooler I think, and a 90 degree fitting, and something else. Then, you have to make certain the coolant temp sensor is in about the same location so that the engine harness reaches it properly. Then, this doesn't address the two most common points of leakage: the plastic flange on the head, and the plastic flange/valve piece down in the valley under the turbo.

And while the pieces they do provide fit fine, it sure seems frightfully expensive for what it is.

Looks like a Darkside Replica.

Wouldnt be surprised if it was just generic black hose and the darkside block off plates.
Kit came in. It’s nice. You have to cut the hoses to fit, but everything was high quality.

Is it already installed? I got a buddy who just bought a CNRB and I'm sure would be interested in getting a kit. Just want some feedback first.
