I don't necessarily think it's a ROI from fuel savings that would motivate one to do this. The EGR cooler on my CNRB is leaking internally, and I'm already deleted and tuned. EGR cooler alone from VW in Canada is $2150 plus tax. Sure, a bunch of people still have the extended warranty, but I would much rather just completely delete the hunk of junk and not have to worry about future problems. I would not be looking at it from a fuel savings perspective in my case.

My cooler has been leaking internally and sending coolant into the intake as well. Started out as having to add a bit of coolant every couple months to every few weeks. Since the problem started, I have gone though probably at least 5 gallons of coolant. I wish there were enough competent people around where I am that could fabricate up what your buddy did. Closest TDI mechanic is 3 hours away, and I've been trying to get my Touareg in to get looked at for 6 months with no luck. I wouldn't trust any shop near me with engine repairs, let alone off the cuff modifications lol; so I hope I can get my hands on one of these GMW kits.
How did you determine the EGR cooler was leaking? Oil test? I am using a small amount of coolant, not much.

my egr failed. Started sending coolant down the intake pipe. I had a stage 2 without the deletes. So we removed it and now ordering the delete program. I have a tunezilla so I can reprogram it myself.

Dimitri (SUSTDI) has been great to work with... I just ordered the full delete/bypass for my cayenne and a full valley reseal kit - dealer replaced EGR cooler but I still have a small coolant leak in the Vee. Super responsive!!!

Why doesn't Darksids EGR/Cooler delete kit need these pieces?
GDM kit was intended to clear a longer cp3 pump which they decided not to sell. the willy wonka piece deletes the bypass valve. and move it out to accomodate a longer pump. its an interesting design, but not worth even thinking about it. i lost way too many brain cells trying to deal with GDM.

I did not realize till now that the CNRB did not have a CP3 upgrade kit available.
That kind of sucks.

I assume you all went with Malone on the tune? If that's the case, with their off-road package, did you all need to get all hardware in place first? Or did they allow you to do it in stages?

you can run egr off in tune with or without cooler or blockoff plates.

I understand, i mean DPF, as I know the pipe needs to be installed first, so I was hoping that I could get the Offroad package and have them disable egr first, and then DPF later after the parts are installed.

If you purchase the credits and the tuner, you can install them in stages. For my A7, I bought the tuner to be able to switch back to stock if needed, or do updates. On the second car I did, I just rented it. I need to compare oakes vs malone some more - Oakes can really tailor the tune how you want - Malone is a bit more all or nothing (EGR is the only exception). I need to see how the readiness monitors compare.

You can do it piecemeal with malone no problem. you only pay the difference in cost on tunezilla.
thats exactly what i did on my touareg. I had egr off only. then my adblue ****ed up and i did egr+adblue off.
Then i did dpf delete and did everything off.

swirl flap doesn't matter.
