ALH injection pump=no touchy?

I see that Bentley says NO to taking the thing apart. Is this the real answer? I ask because I see that it contains a number of things I would think would be separately replacable: quantity adjuster, cold start injector, fuel temp, fuel shutoff, and modulating piston sensor. What gives?

Some things can be done. There is a description here for replacing the temp. sensor, replacing the shutoff valve is no problem and the cold start or timing advance solenoid may also be replacable without messing up the pump, but taking the top half of the pump off would mess up the injection quantity. Getting to far into it would be dangerous. Cleanliness is also very important.
