Air intake - turbo flutter

Installed the Neuspeed p-flo air intake on 2015 GOLF TDI, around 3000-3500 rpm, I get a flutter sound on full throttle. Almost like a restricted/maxed out turbo output, anyone has/had a similar sound or issue?

Isn't that what you wanted by getting an aftermarket intake. more sound?

What you're probably hearing is maybe the turbo muffler flapping air around, or possibly the intake has poor air flow compared to stock unit.

I love the sound but under full throttle as the RPM build it sounds constructed, bit like when you take a piece of paper to stand up fan, just “flutters” almost like there is not enough air flow or the turbo is restricting the airflow

Update: I got told by my mechanic that the hot air duct is just a filter that takes hot air from around the manifold into the air intake for those cold starts.

And the noise is normal for the TDI engines.

The mechanic specialized in VW & Audi’s, and has plenty of TDI projects of his own so it is valuable information

Yeah that's probably the VNT adjusting the veins to keep boost in check.

Are you running stock tuning?
