This topic should have been well covered but questions still pop up.
During the install on the AHU / 1Z injection pump it is very important to "center" the pump btween its limit stops.
I've photographed this to show how its done.
Notice the RED line (which I make with a cold chisel).
With the pump seated into its mount rotate the pump forward as far as it will go. Then use a center punch to make the lower referance point.
Rotate the pump towards the rear of the car again as far as it will rotate.
Again use a center punch to make the upper referance point.
At this time you'll have made the 3 marks as shown.
Now rotate the pump assembly untill your have the red line "centered" between the two limit marks and secure pump assembly.
With the pump installed in this manner the engine will start and idel so that the final timing adjustment can be made.
