so i posted before about my little wreck http://forums.tdiclub.com/showflat.php?C...true#Post961946 now i noticed that when i have the car locked, then unlock it, i have to pull the handle once then again to open the door, going back to who did the work, but wondering if anyone has had anything like this and if so, what was the exact problem
its weird, its like the door isnt quite unlocked and from pulling the handle it kindof logges it into completely unlocked. anyways i hope you understand what im tryin to say

I understand EXACTLY. my 2004 Jetta does the exact same thing on the front passenger door, not consistently though. When I unlock the car, I notice that the door lock on that door doesn't come all the way up to the same point as it does on the other doors. Then I pull the door handle, door doesn't open but door lock then comes up a bit further. A 2nd, and sometimes a 3rd try, opens the door. I've noticed this more when it is cold, when warm, it only occurs about 30% of the time but when cold, its like 99%.

Super annoying.

Thanks,
Owen

If your repairs were paid for by insurance, then the problem you're having should also be covered. Take it back, tell them the job is not quite finished.

Sounds like a bent lock rod(one of the linkages anyway). I was fixing a lady's car one time and tweaked the rod for the knob sticking up out of the top of the door.
I got careless and it bit me in the arse. Body shop probably did something like that.
