Hello everyone! So if you dont like to read skip to the next part.
I purchased my Golf mk3 1.9TDI AFN a few months ago for cheap. I did some body work and got it looking like a car again. Also did a lot of engine work: Oil, filters, belts, rollers, tensioners, fuel hoses, vacuum hoses (also the one inside the ECU), some gaskets and whatnot. The main thing was i cleaned the VNT turbo because the car was undrivable. Went into limp mode in the driveway before cleaning it. After cleaning it the car was drivable again and it has plenty of power through the entire rev range on a flat road and uphill. Does whatever i ask it too. Also added heated and cooled and some other stuff for my comfort.
So the issue is that when i go up my last hill to get home (about a 17 degree incline for 250m). In 3rd the car smoothly glides up the hill while still being able to gain speed. However when i go up the hill in 2nd gear and have about 1/4 throttle it sometimes (not always) goes into limp mode. Highway 5th gear, full throttle, 160km/h no limp mode so i would guess its not over boosting. One thing to note is that i didnt check/adjust the VNT actuator because i dont have a mighty vac. It moves by hand and does not bind. Actuation test it also moves until the vacuum runs out. All connectors were cleaned and inspected. Below are the links for my MAF, MAP and N75 duty cycle logs. This is where my knowledge lacks because i dont know whats good and whats not. I wouldnt want to throw parts on it but i suspect the N75 is acting up because of the long duty cycle it had. I couldnt get it to go into limp mode on my log. The glow plug light does not turn on when it does go into limp mode but the code it gives me is
00575 - Intake Manifold Pressure: Control Difference Intermittent
One think to note also is that i changed the timing belt about 6000km ago and the timing is on the green line (right on the edge of advanced). I adjusted it like this so that the belt stretches it goes towards the retarded side. Could slightly advanced timing also cause this?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
