Tried to use the DEF pump at my local card lock. Has anyone had success doing so? It's possible the flow rate is too high, but I had some DEF spitting out around the nozzle. I'll just buy a few gallons from my local auto parts store (or Amazon)

The flow rate may be too high. You could always fill a smaller container like a fuel can or milk jug, and use that to fill your tank.

Bite the bullet and go to the dealer and get one of the 1/2-gallon jugs shown in the video. They are about $8.50 MSRP. It has special fittings on it to pretty much make the filling process spill-free.
After you empty the jug, remove it from the filler connection in the trunk and just grasp the blue adapter fitting on the neck and unscrew it. Then refill the jug from a more economically-priced larger container.
Following the as-mentioned advice in the video, cutting the bottom off of the jug, will lead to more spillage. Why take the chance of trying to use the container as a funnel . . . .
