Yep, pretty standard for most of us across the country, ~15% tax plus other fees.WOW! Looking at your numbers, your taxes and fees are almost $6000 on a $26700 car. makes me glad I don't live in Toronto.

Interesting.. Early on when we were looking they said approval had not been given for dealer loaner 2015s to be sold. That must have changed. Next logical step would be reselling the 2015 buy backs. Why pretty high? I'm looking at one with 7000 miles already on it as the new 2015s are all gone up here - anything I should be looking out for?
Does it come with the full warranty?I agree that 700 miles is a little high for a new 2015.
I was just referring to the other posts in this thread - but that is also a good argument. The one I'm looking at actually has like 8000 miles, so I guess it would come with the 11 year emissions warranty if I did the fixes but only half, or less, of the basic warranty is left.Does it come with the full warranty?
Depending on your viewpoint, 700 miles might even be beneficial since the car hasn't been sitting around.
I believe the Audis can be sold as well, but there are no incentives on them. The Sportwagens are going fast around here, I was wondering if there was news on when the Audis will be released. My local Audi dealers knows nothing.
One of my keys just told me that the other day too! The other one is fine for now.The GSW told my wife it wants new batteries in the key fob last night...
I presume you mean the dead key fob battery, not the rodent eaten wiring...Yet another thing to demand the dealer to replace before driving off the lot!
That is a bummer, hopefully you get setup with the car from TX. The rodent thing is definitely an issue in certain parts of the country. My car unfortunately smells like moth balls instead of that new car smell. Dealer says the use moth balls to deter the rodents. Hopefully it worked! My recent experiences:
Dealer in CO has a 2015 GSW SEL 6M. I contacted them on 4/29 and started discussion, then they stopped responding. At first I thought it was just that they didn't take me seriously or they were frustrated that I was trying to negotiate for a better price than 5K discount. I emailed, sent texts, called, no reply. I was afraid that this car was gone and they were afraid to tell me, since I had not officially put a deposit on it. Called the sales mgr and he said the car had my name on it on hold and that he would have the sales person call me.
She eventually did, and I asked again to get the finance approval going, and asked for pics of the car. She said she would do that but the car was in the shop undergoing its repairs. One week later, still no pics, no application for financing, ***?
I contacted her again and she had her sales manager call me. He said that he (they) were extremely embarrassed because I am the third customer they have had to inform that they likely cannot sell the cars to them. They'd been storing these in a grass area next to another dealer, and they had rodent deposits and damage. One guy actually walked away after his test drive due to the smell. The SM said that VW may not approve these cars to be sold, therefore they will be scrapped. I recall reading somewhere else about mice living in these stored cars.
Too bad.
The SM did me a favour though and checked other dealers. He said there are about 20-something 6M GSW SEL / SE left around the nation and most of them in the NY/PA/OH/NJ areas. He found one for me in Texas that I have contacted and they will start working on this car today to get it ready. They sent pics and informed me that they were in fact driving these cars once/month as VW has required.
A dish of baking soda or kitty litter (clean of course) might help to absorb the odor. You'd probably need the odor fighting kitty litter but then you'll also have the perfume they load it up with. Another option would be odor eaters or activated charcoal or just plain charcoal briquettes. That is a bummer, hopefully you get setup with the car from TX. Anyone know how to get rid of the moth ball smell? It's getting better, but it's still there.
Thanks! I have found the online sites to be about 90% incorrect for the Northeast- they might be better for other areas. I started out by visiting dealers in person (largely b/c many of the salesmen won't go outside and check on their stock), but common sense prevailed and I just started calling around. It is good to hear all these stories, glad your wife found a car she is happy with.
University VW in Albuquerque has a nice Jetta SE w/connectivity in a stick, moonrocj silver with cornsilk interior if anyone is looking for that car.
How are people searching for these? Not all dealers are using cars or autotrader.
I am going to NJ in July, maybe I'll look into dealers there and drive one back. The one in TX is not too far, it has driver assist package, no lighting package and it's white, 129 mi. I like white but would prefer blue or tungsten. Ah well, I think it's hard to be picky given the selection and distances. The product specialist said they had no mice problems.
Is driver assist package helpful at all?
I searched by calling LOTS of dealers. I did stop by my local dealership, who said they had a silver GSW SE 6MT. I took it for a test drive and then they informed me it had a deposit. Then again, they are idiots there. I've tried to buy at least 4 cars there because they are close, but everytime something happens I get the car elsewhere. I also found all the online stuff useless for these cars, and yes, you had to talk to the right guy. I called 20+ dealerships, some I was able to talk the the 'diesel' guy right away and get a good idea of what they had, some took my info and said they would get back to me, of which a couple did, but most didn't. I ended up buying a car from a dealer about 80 miles away and am thrilled with it. Of course, a couple of days after I picked it up, my local dealer called me to say the car I test drove was available again! One other dealer called me back this week saying they had one available again because the original buyer had terrible credit. Just yesterday another called me back saying the used ones would be going on sale soon.It is good to hear all these stories, glad your wife found a car she is happy with.

FYI--I am seeing used listing go up. If you're still in the hunt, it's probably time to call your dealers again.
