Was wondering if any others in HOT climates AC systems struggle?

Checked this morning and had 8.8 BAR refrigerant pressure (85 degree ambient) this morning.
And that seems to be the right pressure - from all the threads and sites I looked at.

Just wondering before I go out and buy some gauges..
Thanks, --Derry

My 2013 Passat has always seemed to struggle when ambient temps are over 105F, especially if parked in the sun (black car). If you start in the shade, it will do ok and eventually get cool, but it may take 10-15min of driving. It has had the RCV replaced once, but at that time it was really just blowing warm air.

My 2013 Golf on the other hand, cools fantastically, even when parked in the sun (reflex silver).

Neither compare to my wife's MB GLE350, which is a complete ice box, if you so desire.

Have you tried resetting your HVAC module temperature adjustment from "normal" to "cold" with VCDS?

In VCDS: Group 08 - Auto HVAC > Coding > Long Coding Helper >Byte 12 > Bit 4-7 > "Temperature adjustment: Cold (Hot Countries)".

I did make the Bit adjustment to HOT -- still doesn't seem to help..

Any ideas on next steps.. everything seems to be good enough up to 95 degrees, but higher than that and in continuous sun it just cant keep up..

Does anyone know what the pressures should be?

Thanks, Derry
