Today I was riding around (hot day) and the AC quit on me. 2003 Jetta A4 manual

After reading through some posts here I checked to see if the fans run when the AC and key are on.

passenger side runs, driver's side does not. AC compressor is not kicking in.

Is this indiciative a bad FCM? How much is this part at the stealership? I need to get this working ASAP as I have a trip to Florida planned.

Well it's not the FCU. I replaced that this afternoon and still no driver's side fan and no love for the AC.

I also went through and checked all my fuses.

Anything else before this car goes to the stealer?

Did you try hotwiring the fan? If it doesn't work then it is the fan. If it does work then you are probably low on refrig.

Fcm? Fcu?

What is the FCM or FCU?

I am having AC problems, too. What purpose does the fan serve? Also, how do you hot wire it?
